Printing mass media explore new communication channels.
During several years, analysts have forecasted “death” for printing media. But despite everything, they are not dying, but open new communication channels. Such conclusion was made by specialists from Pro-Vision Communications – analysis of existed and downloaded mobile apps made by over 100 leading Russian mass media (TNS Russia media).
Daily newspapers are leading in the “mobility” – 78% of the media have mobile apps at least for 1 operational system, half of magazines follow the same way - 46%.
Newspapers mostly develop apps for iOS and Android platforms, magazines prefer iOS - 49%.
According to the search engine Xyo – the most popular app for today – Za Rulem (Behind the wheel). Next is news and business media RBC – almost 700 thousand downloads.
Maxim is only on 10th place – less than 270 thousand downloads.
