The number of European households which monthly pay for subscription on SVOD will increase till 17,99 mln. by the end of 2014 from 1,78 mln. – results of 2010, and by 2020 its number will reach 59,41 mln.HHs (forecast of Digital TV Research). Penetration of SVOD services in West Europe will be higher (29,7%) vs East Europe (6,8%).
Revenue from online TV and video subscription will also increase – from $116 mln. (results of 2010) till $1,633 bln. by the end of current year and till $5,5 bln. by the end of 2020.
According to analysts’ forecast, UK will be a leader by revenue from such services by 2020, results in Germany will be close to the UK.
Advertising revenue should increase till $2,305 bln. (end of 2014) and $5,117 bln. (end of 2020).
Revenue from leasing payment method for video viewing will increase till $858 mln. to the forecasted period and from download for timeless storage – till $1,395 bln.
Total revenue from these services (excl.subscription) will reach over $4,8 bln. by the end of the current year and around $12,87 bln. by 2020.
