FSUE (the Federal State Unitary Enterprise) "Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network" (RTRS) launched the second digital multiplex broadcasting in Barnaul. The network that is able to provide coverage of this package is already built in the Altai region, however, TV channel operators lack funding to use it. This was made public by RTRS press-service on August 15.
Alexei Volin, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Communications and Viktor Pinchuk, RTRS deputy director, participated at the grand opening of the second broadcasting multiplex.
97% population of Altai region can already watch TV channels via the first multiplex. The second multiplex is more complicated. However the network for it has already been built, however not all TV transmitters are broadcasting right now. Again, TV channels lack sufficient funding to use the new network, Alexey Wolin confided
"We will connect new settlements immediately, as only will obtain an order from the channel, "- Viktor Pinchuk said.
However, TV channels are no eager to penetrate small Russian towns and settlements …
