VIEWERS ARE OVERWHELMED BY “STREAMING VIDEO”

Streaming video is close by popularity to traditional TV. 77% respondents watch general TV several times per week or more, streaming – 75%. Such information was published in the research: TV&Media Report conducted by Ericsson ConsumerLab.

 

Experts said that more and more users prefer watch video on tablets and smartphones. Starting 2012 the number of those who ready to pay for video content in any place increased for 25%. Viewing time on smartphones increased for 15%.

 

In 2012, respondents watched TV from home around 14 hours per week, in 2014 – 12 hours. According to analysts, people watch video on smartphones at home and other places. In general, 41% of the surveyed expressed desire to watch favorite TV programs in any place.

 

Two factors restrain the development of streaming video: price for data transfer and cost of the content. Besides, over 43% want to watch the content in UHD (Ultra High Definition Television) format – so called – 4K television.
