RSA Conference 2019 takes place March 4 to 8 in San Francisco.

This year’s theme is, to put it simply, Better. Which means working hard to find better solutions. Making better connections with peers from around the world. And keeping the digital world safe so everyone can get on with making the real world a better place.

When it comes to cybersecurity, what defines better? New tools for building stronger walls? Sharper algorithms for predicting risk? AI and machine learning to help outsmart cybercriminals? That’s certainly part of it. Technology always has to move forward. But it’s not the only answer. Ensuring a brighter future requires all of us—everyone from the C suite to those of us on the front lines—to be better today. To stay on top of the latest threats. To put in the extra hours. To make security a top priority. And most importantly, to never forget the fundamental reason why we’re here: to help ensure a more secure world so others can get on with the business of making it a better one. This collective desire to do more is the mission of RSA Conference. We come here to experience better solutions, brainstorm better ideas, and remind ourselves that a better, safer world is ahead when we have the drive, the strength and the vision to work together to create it.

RSA Conference is about bringing all cybersecurity professionals together and empowering the collective “we” in the industry. We feel passionately about ensuring diversity and inclusivity (D&I) in every aspect of our events. Be the change we want to see and read about our 4 Guiding Principles.

Be the Change We Want to See

RSA Conference is, and has always been, about bringing all cybersecurity professionals together and empowering the collective “we” in the industry. We feel passionately about ensuring diversity and inclusivity (D&I) in every aspect of our events. This includes the equal representation and expression of all genders, orientations, physical abilities, religions, ethnicities and experiences. At its core, it’s this kind of collaboration that stands to unlock our industry’s truest potential.

RSAC’s Diversity & Inclusion Guiding Principles

  1. Governance: Improving governance of RSAC on content direction and important concerns for the community, including D&I
  2. Experience: Ensuring RSA Conference is a welcoming, safe and comfortable space for all
  3. Programming: Programming content and activities that create an environment for positive and inclusive dialogue and valuable collaboration between perspectives of all kinds
  4. Investment: Investing in solutions and partnerships that address the roots of bias and exclusion

Diversity & Inclusion Programs (New for 2019)

Governance: Improving governance of D&I issues Changes to the RSAC Advisory Board

-The Advisory Board originally formed with respected members of our community to provide a voice in the industry, evolved to provide opinions on the content at RSAC and now, it is a committee who looks at a broader set of issues in cybersecurity, including D&I issues in the cyber sector.

-We are also adding nine respected members from diverse professional and individual backgrounds to our Advisory Board as a way to expand the Board’s relevancy to the entire cybersecurity community.

Experience: Ensuring RSA Conference is a welcoming, safe and comfortable space for all

-Safe Walk Program: Working in conjunction with the city of San Francisco, increased patrols will take place in and around hotels not serviced by RSAC bus routes.

-Code of Conduct and Exhibitor Dress Code Guidelines: Review the Conference’s current policies and implement updates as well as improve alert and enforcement processes.

-Introduction of Onsite Child Care (a pilot program that will be based on interest indicated during this year’s registration process).

-Introduction of a Prayer Room for attendees and staff.
