As competition amongst cloud service providers becomes more and more intense, it is becoming increasingly important for telcos to not only retain existing customers, but attract new ones. In addition to keeping up-to-date with advances in cloud technology and development of new cloud offerings.
Telcos across the globe are focusing on creating new services and business models that support customers’ digital transformation. They are looking for new ways and opportunities to help businesses achieve process efficiencies and deliver cost reduction through continued migration to cloud solutions.
The 2016 Telco Cloud forum will be covering all the crucial and essential topics from all possible angles.
With 25% growth in attendance and 55% decision makers, the 7th annual Telco Cloud is by far the only meeting place for all the key telco cloud providers and their channel partners to network and discuss their challenges and the way forward.
Highlights from 2015 Telco Cloud
At the Forum telco executives once again were looking for new ways and opportunities to help businesses achieve process efficiencies and deliver cost reduction through continued migration to cloud solutions. And it’s not an easy task with the rising competition amongst cloud service providers.
The Telco Cloud expert speaker panel helped clarify the landscape and shed away the fear through ground breaking presentations and advice! Just to name a few – Telefonica, Microsoft, Google, Turkcell, Telecom Italia, Deutsche Telekom, Amazon WS, Proximus, Verizon and many more.
The plenary session on Forum Day One had the theme of Enabling profit opportunities and innovations and featured a panel with leading telco experts, such as Juan Manuel Moreno, Global Cloud Director, Telefonica; Mark Rice, Operator Business Cloud Services General Manager, Microsoft Corp; Ravindran Mahalingam, Vice President, EMEA Region, Hutchison Global Communications; Shahar Steiff, AVP – New Technologies, PCCW Global and was chaired by and an industry expert Camille Mendler from Ovum.
The afternoon was split into two streams, exploring different models was the theme throughout the Model Cloud session, with talks from HP, Telecom Italia, Mural, AppDirect, Amazon Web Services, BSCG, Open-Xchange, InverCloud, PCCW and Oracle.
The Virtual Cloud stream featured sessions led by Colt, Huawei, Deutsche Telekom, Nokia, Oracle, Intel, Ericsson, Cox Communications, HP and Ovum.
Day Two kicked off with two streams. Go-To-Market stream, chaired by Mark Rice from Microsoft, had a theme on how to sell the cloud and featured talks from CenturyLink, TeliaSonera, Strategy Analytics, Telekom Slovenije, Sandvine, Google, Odeon & UCI Cinemas, Verizon, mm1 and Combis.
As for Secure Cloud stream, a number of leading telcos and industry leading security companies gave their insights into what they see as a strong successful cloud. We saw keynotes from ABANCA Bank, du, Telefonica, Swisscom, Proximus and Gemalto.
In the afternoon delegates from both stream gathered in the main ballroom to go through the main take-aways from the Forum. Speakers and panellists from Mitel, CenturyLink, Fraunhofer FOKUS, Genband, Magyar Telekom, Cisco, Turkcell, Cloud Industry Forum and Huawei were working on the main agenda for next steps towards being a CSP market leader.
