A battle for the screen

“Smart TV is a new driver for online video viewing. As per 2013 year results, as many as 27% of Russian viewers watch online video on Smart TV – enabled TV sets”, - says Alexander Gadalov, TV and Video direction manager at J'son & Partners Consulting.


According to the company’s information, this figure will grow up to 41% by 2017, as the number of TV sets, supporting this technology, is also constantly growing. It is anticipated that in 2017, 78% of all flat-panel TV sets sold will fall under Smart TV – enabled devices. Their total amount installed in Russia will reach 29.8 million units in 2017.
