Forecasts of the Pay TV industry development
The Pay TV market in Russia in the coming years will continue to grow in subscribers and revenue. Experts of J'son and Partners predict the average annual growth of revenue on the market for the period up to 2020 at 5-7%.
Increasing income of operators is possible due to:
- The development of additional services, such as VOD, Timeshift, Multiroom.
- The change of the channel package policy. Allocation of targeted thematic channels (including their HD and UHD versions) and selling them in separate packages.
In the framework of the scenario of faster growth in the penetration of new technologies, J'son & Partners predicts that in 2019 the total number of Pay TV subscribers and subscribers of OTT-services may exceed the number of households in Russia.
